Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

PettyCare (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information and your pets' health data when you use the PettyCare application (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: your full name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a securely hashed value).
  • Pet information: your pet's name, species, breed, sex, birthdate, weight, and photo.
  • Medical records: vaccination history, medications, vet visit notes, allergies, conditions, costs, and any attachments (e.g. lab results, prescriptions) you upload.
  • Symptom checker data: symptom descriptions you submit and the AI-generated triage responses.
  • Usage data: log data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and maintain your account and your pets' medical records
  • Provide AI-assisted symptom triage (not a veterinary diagnosis)
  • Send reminders for vaccinations, medications, and check-ups via email and in-app notifications
  • Help you find and connect with PRC-verified veterinarians and clinics
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your health data or your pets' health data to target advertising to you.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL database, authentication, and file storage), a provider that implements encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and row-level security policies that restrict access to your own records. We apply reasonable organizational, physical, and technical measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and pet medical records for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

5. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under RA 10173, you have the right to:

  • Be informed that your personal data will be, are being, or have been processed
  • Access your personal data and your pets' records
  • Correct any inaccurate or outdated information
  • Object to the processing of your data
  • Request the erasure or blocking of your data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Data portability — request a copy of your data in an electronic format
  • Be indemnified for damages sustained due to inaccurate, incomplete, or unlawfully obtained data
  • File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 8.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited data with the following third-party service providers, solely to operate the Service:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • OpenRouter — processes symptom descriptions to generate AI triage responses
  • Resend — sends transactional and reminder emails
  • Google AdSense — displays non-health-targeted advertising (web version)

These providers are contractually and/or technically limited to processing your data only as necessary to provide their service to us.

7. Data Minimization

We only collect the personal and pet data that is necessary to provide the Service. We do not sell your personal information or your pets' health data to third parties.

8. National Privacy Commission Registration

As a data processing system involving personal and sensitive personal information, PettyCare undertakes to register its processing systems with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) in accordance with RA 10173, as applicable to our scale of operations.

9. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@pettycare.ph. You may also file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph.
